Excalibur Rev X Crossbow- Cock and De-cock.

For two consecutive years, I shot offhand Robin Hoods using Excalibur crossbows at the ATA Show.  Trying for a three-pete, I aimed the new Excalibur Rev X and squeezed off three shots.  As you can see by the image below, the Rev X is accurate and easy to shoot. The nocks touched, but not the perfect impact I sought.

Customer 5-Star Review

Excellent bow-

“The Rev X is a home run of a Crossbow. Replaced an Assassin 400 TD with a new Rev X a few months ago. The bow is extremely accurate, Very easy to cock and decock and has an excellent trigger, and is noticeably lighter than the 400TD was. If you are looking for a Recurve Crossbow, it doesn’t get any better than the Rev X.”  This was a crossbow review on the Excalibur website.

Ditching the Wheels

I’ve been shooting Excalibur crossbows for 10 years and have introduced my three grandsons to deer hunting with them.  I’ve hunted in Africa, where the Excalibur accounted for wildebeest, kudu, warthog, and other plains game.  One bow has made three trips with multiple users and hasn’t needed a string change.  Recurve-style crossbows have no wheels or cams and shoot arrows with flat nocks.  Orienting a traditional nock incorrectly in a moment of excitement can easily cut a bowstring and ruin a hunt.  If you are a fan of the motto, “Simpler is Better,” you will like this brand.

Easy Cock and Un-Cock

The Rev X unleashes an 18-inch bolt at 400 fps, so this bow is suitable for any North American game animal.  It features a crank that turns with just 17 pounds of pressure making the bow easy to cock.  The crank can be reversed without an out-of-control spin, and the bow can be uncocked without shooting.  Additionally, the crank handle nests into the stock so you won’t forget or lose it.  The stock is skeletonized such that weight is minimized and a loaded arrow does not extend beyond the cocking stirrup.  This allows the bow to be rested vertically or swung horizontally without impacting the arrow and broadhead.  MSRP for the Rev X is around $1700, which is midprice.  For more details, visit ExcalbiurCrossbow.com
