Work Your Lure with Purpose
Don't just cast and crank.
Fish respond to movement that looks real — and real prey doesn't swim in straight lines.
- Twitch it. Mimic a dying baitfish or struggling insect.
- Pause mid-retrieve. Predators often strike when the lure suddenly stops.
- Change speed. Fast retrieves can trigger reaction strikes, while slower ones can tempt lethargic fish.
- Vary your cadence. Mix it up until you find what they want that day.
Every cast is a chance to experiment. You're not just reeling — you're imitating life.
